Marjean

Marjean was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who in the 90’s fought for the victims of violent crime in Canada. She herself was a victim after losing one of her sons in 1993 and had to fight to find out what happened. As a result of this work and the push for better victim services in Canada Marjean was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012. She was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in 2025, and in the end was surrounded by family and friends.
